Gurugram cyber police arrested three persons, including a bank employee, in a fake stock market investment scam


The accused managed to convince a resident of Gurugram to invest Rs 44.57 lakh in April, promising substantial returns. However, after discovering the fraud, the victim filed a complaint on April 17. Inspector Savit Kumar's team arrested Devendra Sharma, Imran, and Hasrat Ali (also known as Happy), all residents of Jaipur.

Gurugram: Gurugram Cyber ​​Police has arrested three persons, including a bank employee, in connection with a cyber scam related to stock market investments. The bank employee, identified as Devendra Sharma from Jaipur branch of Punjab National Bank, allegedly facilitated the fraudsters by providing bank accounts to them.

The accused managed to convince a resident of Gurugram to invest Rs 44.57 lakh in April, promising substantial returns. However, after discovering the fraud, the victim filed a complaint on April 17. Inspector Savit Kumar's team arrested Devendra Sharma, Imran, and Hasrat Ali (also known as Happy), all residents of Jaipur.

Further investigation revealed that Devendra Sharma had set up a fake business account using documents provided by Imran and given access to Happy. An amount of Rs 1 lakh from the fraudulent proceeds was transferred to this account, which Happy later sold to cybercriminals for Rs 1.5 lakh. Allegedly, Devendra and Imran received Rs 50,000 for facilitating the scam.
