Gurugram: Panic erupted in Tikli village in Gurugram after CCTV footage showed a leopard attacking a cow and killing it, scaring local residents and threatening nearby livestock. A forest department team investigated the area after the incident and implemented precautionary measures in response to the sighting of two leopards in the vicinity.
Talking about the same, an official of the forest department told news agency ANI, “This morning we received a report of a leopard attack in Tikli, about 10 days ago we also received a report of a leopard attack here, which After our staff arrived here for a visit.”
“We got information again today that a leopard attacked and killed a cow in the cow shed here. Tikli is situated in the lap of mountains. The cow shed here is close to these mountains. The cow shed has four walls. Such that even a person can cross them, making it easy for the leopard to enter the area,” he said.
He added, “In the CCTV footage, two leopards can be seen entering the area. Cows are easy prey for leopards and that is why they have become a habit in the area.”
“We have issued instructions to the concerned authorities to raise the village walls or put traps as a precaution. They have requested us to set up a capture cage, for which we will capture 2 leopards. Cages will be set up”. They said.
