Gwyneth Paltrow admitted to her Instagram followers during an Instagram Q+A session on Thursday that she’s gotten Botox — which has been both “successful and unsuccessful.”
The Goop founder, 51 – who recently spoke out about ex Chris Martin’s longtime partner Dakota Johnson – was asked by a fan: ‘Have you ever tried Botox?’
In response to the question, the Oscar winner typed on her Instagram stories, ‘God yes. I’m afraid both successful and unsuccessful.
Another social media user asked the actress, ‘How does your skin look so good?’ Paltrow expressed that she is ‘very diligent about taking care of my skin.’
The star has been open over the years about her skin care as well as her opinions on aging.
Speaking to Refinery29 in 2020, the Iron Man actress revealed, ‘In the past, I never said I wouldn’t do plastic or cosmetic surgery, because I think it’s important to be honest about the fact that we all change. as we age.’
Although she doesn’t currently do Botox, Gwyneth has admitted to having another injectable called Xeomin – which is also FDA-approved and labeled as ‘naked injectables’.
“I never want to look younger or look like me,” the businesswoman further told the outlet at the time.
She then recalled, ‘When I turned 40, I had like a midlife crisis and got anti-wrinkle injections all over my face, and it was horrible.’
‘I looked terrible – one eye was actually higher than the other – and it was definitely a big mistake, although fortunately it was a temporary mistake.’
On the topic of cosmetic surgery, she told Harper’s Bazaar, ‘I think it’s good when women share, because there’s a lot of shame around surgery or injections or fillers, and it would be good if people were more informed about their options. Feel confident about. ,
‘But if they want to know a beauty secret, that’s okay too. I’m an open book—I share what works for me, because that’s how I’ve always learned.’
Gwyneth also discussed her skin-care routine and the treatments she prefers when she spoke to Vogue in July earlier this year.
‘I love facial massage, [lymphatic] Unlike laser, drainage, and working the muscles.’
The star then revealed, ‘I’m a little nervous about using laser on the face and I’ve seen strange results on some people. This seems risky.
‘Sometimes, I’ll do a red light facial for inflammation or something like that. We also sell Lima Lager at Goop – it’s really nice and gentle, so I’d do that.’
Paltrow also opened up about “her perspective” on aging, saying, “I think it’s a problem of culture [that women seem to be judged more on getting older than men],
He added, ‘It’s not ours! As women, we want to be healthy, we want to age well. The idea that we should be frozen in time is very strange.’
The Emma actress later said, ‘I think we want to set an example of how you can age. Every woman should do it the way they want to do it.
‘Some women want to address every single thing aesthetically, and some women want to be a fabulous French grandmother who never does anything. “Everyone should have the right to do how they want to do it,” Gwyneth expressed.
The star’s wellness and lifestyle brand Goop – which launched in 2008 – also sells products targeting skin care.
Some items include the $150 Youth-Boost Peptide Serum and the Life + DePuff Eye Mask priced at $125.
During the question-and-answer session on Thursday, a fan also asked about his relationship with actress Dakota Johnson, who has been with Paltrow’s ex, Coldplay singer Chris Martin, since 2017.
“We’re really good friends,” Paltrow said. I love him very much. She is a lovely, wonderful person.
The question came after both Johnson and Martin were seen together celebrating Johnson’s 34th birthday on Thursday evening.
Gwyneth and the singer were married from 2003 until their divorce was finalized in 2016. They have children Apple, 19, and Moses, 17.
The second to last question was, ‘Are you friends with Jennifer Aniston?’ And Paltrow responded by sharing a photo of Aniston in a white dress, giving Paltrow a kiss on the cheek.
