Several councilors demanded that the corporation should stop issuing permits to GAIL Gas Limited to lay its pipeline in the city until it restores all the excavated stretches and cut roads.

He alleged that the company has not repaired the dug up stretches on the roadside at many places in the city, causing problems to commuters. He demanded that its concerned officials be called in the next meeting of the council.

complaint to commissioner

At one time, Corporation Commissioner CL Anand had to face trouble when a BJP councilor complained that he did not receive his call.

Another councilor from the ruling party complained that the commissioner had kept 25 files on hold without giving approval. Joining the issue, Congress councilor AC Vinayraj said that elected representatives deserve proper respect.

Responding to this, the Mayor directed the Commissioner to dispose of the files within two days and receive the calls of the councilors.

The mayor said that if it is not possible to receive calls between meetings, calls should be returned.

Council whip Premanand Shetty said councilors complaining against a top-level commissioner was “not a good development.”

Earlier such complaints were being made only against officers of other ranks below the Commissioner.
