Heavy rain in Mumbai this evening flooded several roads and diverted some flights. Vehicles moved slowly on flooded roads, causing traffic jams in several parts of the country's financial capital.
Some flights have been diverted, SpiceJet and Vistara said in a post on X.
Flight UK534 from Hyderabad to Mumbai was returning to Hyderabad due to bad weather at the Mumbai airport, Vistara said, and was expected to land in Hyderabad at 9.15 pm. Another flight UK941 from Delhi to Mumbai has been diverted to Hyderabad and was expected to arrive at 9.10 pm.
“Due to inclement weather (heavy rain) in Mumbai, all departures/arrivals and subsequent flights may be affected. Passengers are requested to keep an eye on their flight status,” SpiceJet said. said in a post on X.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for Mumbai and neighboring districts, predicting “very heavy rain”. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted very heavy rain till Thursday morning.
Many suburban areas of Mumbai have received significant rainfall since afternoon today, with Mulund and its environs receiving heaviest rainfall, with low-lying areas inundated.
The IMD's forecast at 5.30 pm said Mumbai, Thane, Raigad and Ratnagiri districts are expected to experience “very heavy rain and thundershowers with lightning and gusty winds”.
