GURGAON: Operators of a call center in Sector 18 were arrested for cheating people by selling herbal sex pills online. The scam came to light on Thursday. A total of 11 people, including four women, were arrested from the call center, police said. At the behest of their bosses, the arrested accused had allegedly published online advertisements for herbal sex drugs. When potential customers contacted the numbers given in these advertisements, the accused took orders from them and instructed them to deposit money in various bank accounts but never delivered the products. “The accused also duped people by collecting GST, packing, and courier fees through QR codes and UPI IDs,” an officer said. Initial investigations revealed that the call center had been operating for about a year. They were paid a monthly salary of Rs 15,000 and also received 5% of the looted money from the victims, an official said. The police team seized seven mobile phones, SIM cards and 2 CPUs. A case has been registered against the accused under sections 420 (cheating) and 120 B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC. tnn
