Hit and run: Motorcyclist dies in hit-and-run at IFFCO Chk flyover | Gurgaon News


Gurgaon: A 28-year-old man died after being hit by an unknown vehicle IFFCO Chowk Flyover on Monday night. Acting on the complaint of his family, the police registered a case under Sections 304A and 279 of the IPC and started an investigation to trace the vehicle and the driver.
Ravi Kumar was employed in a private company in Paharganj, Delhi and belonged to Madanpuri, Gurgaon.
On Monday evening, Kumar had gone to Delhi on some personal work. The accident happened that night when they were returning home on their bikes. At around 7.15 pm, when Kumar was approaching the IFFCO Chowk U-turn flyover on the Sukhrali side service road, an unidentified vehicle hit him. motorcycle ASI Vikas Kumar of DLF Sector 29 said from behind, and due to the accident, he fell on the road along with his bike.
According to officials, Kumar was wearing a helmet, yet he sustained severe head injuries. Passers-by reported the incident to the police and the passers-by then shifted Kumar in an ambulance to Shiva Hospital near Shitla Mata Temple. During treatment, he succumbed to his injuries later on Monday night.
Ravi's brother Shubham Soni in his complaint alleged that the death was due to careless driving by the unidentified driver.
The ASI said, “Based on her complaint, the police booked her on Tuesday evening under Sections 304A (causing death by haste or negligence) and 279 (driving rashly on public road) of the IPC on Tuesday evening.” Filed a case.”
An official said that the body was handed over to the family after post-mortem on Tuesday.
“There are no CCTV cameras around the accident site. We are verifying the CCTV feed from nearby places to identify the accused,” the ASI added.
