“The 2Baba comparisons almost broke me. Some presenters at Cool FM and Sound City, and an event planner at Festac Carnival 2013 denied me access to their platforms for looking like 2Baba. gave
“The Sound City presenter once bragged in Club Rumors that he was the one who ordered the presenters at his station not to play my songs because I was copying 2Face.
“The program planner of Festac Carnival insisted that I not perform because I look like their king 2Face. That's what happened when I went for an interview on Cool FM. The presenter said he was someone like that. Can't interview 2Face impersonators.
“I complained to my mom and my record label boss, Baba Keke, but they told me to keep calm. Sometimes, when I try to pay tribute to 2Face when we meet in public, his Some team members block me.
According to Joe El, his collaboration with 2Baba on “Hold On” in 2015 helped change public perception, giving him recognition as an individual artist.
When asked about his exit from Cannes Music, Joe L attributed it to the natural consequence of his contract, saying, “It was over.”
