Sledgehammer Games has made it possible for players to test and fine-tune their stick drift in MW3.
Stick drift is a worse situation for fans of any shooter title. Detecting faulty input direction can create a nightmare, completely ruining the gameplay.
There are few workarounds when it comes to purchasing a new controller, however Sledgehammer is attempting to improve this by putting a gameplay solution in its place.

On the right side of the screen the game will show a diagram of both the left and right sticks as well as both triggers. All four can be changed depending on what is required of the controller.

Where to test stick drift
The first option in the deadzone setting is ‘Test Stick Deadzone’, where the game will allow the player to move their stick freely and see the exact location on the map. Depending on what direction assistance is needed, that map can translate to what is the minimum or maximum that needs to be changed for that stick.

There are no maps for the trigger buttons, although those settings can be found at the very bottom of the same pull down. This time there is a diagram for both triggers which can be changed depending on how much pressure the player wants to provide.

Each slider has a set number that corresponds to a controller that doesn’t have stick drift. If you change your settings to something you don’t like, here are the default options to get you back on track.
