Gurgaon: heavy rain According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), it is likely to occur over isolated areas of the city and state on Wednesday. It has issued a 'yellow' alert for heavy rain, adding that no rain is expected on Tuesday.
The city witnessed a sunny day on Monday, with a maximum temperature of 33.4 degrees Celsius, 0.4 degrees higher than Sunday's 33 degrees. At 25.2 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature was 0.8 degrees higher than Sunday's 24.4 degrees. Humidity levels fluctuated between 66% and 54%.
“Heavy rain is expected in Haryana from September 18 at isolated places, especially Gurgaon. Yellow warning has been released,” an IMD official said.
Rain is expected to relieve the humid weather. However, it can also lead to waterlogging and traffic congestion in some areas.
The Meteorological Department has advised people to be cautious and take necessary precautions during heavy rains. People should avoid going out unnecessarily during heavy rains and keep an eye on weather updates.
The district administration has asked people to immediately report any incident of waterlogging or falling trees to the concerned authorities. Authorities have set up control rooms to monitor the situation and deployed teams to clear waterlogged areas and fallen trees.
During this time, the maximum temperature will be between 34 and 35 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature is likely to be between 25 and 26 degrees.
Meanwhile, the city's Air Quality Index (AQI) was 'moderate' at 115 on Monday.
In Delhi, Safdarjung, the city's base station, recorded a maximum temperature of 34.1 degrees Celsius on Monday, which is the seasonal norm, as against 33.6 degrees Celsius a day earlier. The minimum temperature was 24.2 degrees Celsius, slightly below the normal, which was 21.6 degrees Celsius the previous day.
