Following Aam Aadmi Party MP Swati Maliwal's alleged allegation that BJP leader Bansuri Swaraj targeted Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, she was accompanied by an attack on the Chief Minister's residence. Condemning the alleged incident, Swaraj called it “shameful” and asked Kejriwal how he would protect the women of Delhi if an MP from his own party was not safe in his presence.

Maliwal, who previously served as the chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), claimed that she was assaulted by Kejriwal's personal aide, people familiar with the matter said.

“If it is true that at the instigation of Arvind Kejriwal, his OSD assaulted and abused Swati Maliwal, an MP of his party, in the presence of the Delhi Chief Minister, then the BJP It is shameful and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has to answer that if his party MPs are not safe in his presence, how will he protect the women of Delhi? He said this with reference to news agency ANI.

“We got the shameful news today that at the instigation of Arvind Kejriwal, his OSD beat up and misbehaved with one of his party's MP Swati Maliwal. She also called the Delhi Police and complained. The incident took place in the presence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at his residence, he added.

Police said Maliwal made two PCR calls from Kejriwal's residence, alleging that Kejriwal's personal assistant Bibhav Kumar had 'assaulted' him.

“Civil Lines police received a PCR call at 9.34 am in which a woman claimed to have attacked the Chief Minister's residence. MP Madam (Maliwal) reached the Civil Lines police station shortly after. However, she soon She left there. She said she would file a complaint later,” DCP (North) Manoj Meena told news agency ANI.

In response to Maliwal's phone complaint, a Delhi Police team reached the chief minister's residence but did not find her there.

The latest incident is yet another setback for Kejriwal, who is out of jail on interim bail in connection with the liquor policy case. The Supreme Court recently allowed Kejriwal to campaign in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
