The Women's T20 World Cup, earlier scheduled to be held in Bangladesh, was shifted out of the country by the ICC after several players expressed concerns over security due to the political unrest prevailing there.

The ten teams will play 23 matches over 18 days at two venues in the United Arab Emirates, the Dubai International Cricket Stadium and the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Group A comprises six-time champions Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, while Group B comprises Bangladesh, England, South Africa, West Indies and Scotland. Each team will compete in four group matches scheduled across two venues.

Bangladesh will take on Scotland in the first match of the event in Sharjah, followed by Pakistan taking on Asia Cup winners Sri Lanka. 2023 runners-up South Africa will play West Indies in their first match of the T20 World Cup in Dubai on October 4.

Australia, the defending champions and the most successful team in T20 World Cup history, will begin their campaign against Sri Lanka on October 5 in Sharjah, while the much-awaited clash between India and Pakistan will take place in Dubai on October 6.

The top two teams from each group will play the second-placed team from the opposite group. Semi-final 1 will be held in Dubai on October 17 and Semi-final 2 in Sharjah on October 18. If India advances, they will play in Semi-final 1. A reserve day has been fixed for both the semi-finals and the final.

The ICC Women's T20 World Cup champions will be crowned on 20 October at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Scotland and Sri Lanka qualified for the tournament through the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier held in Abu Dhabi earlier this year.

The excitement will begin with ten practice matches to be played at the Sevens Stadium and ICC Academy Ground in Dubai from September 28 to October 1.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will retain its hosting rights and will partner with the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) to ensure the successful organisation of the event.

Sri Lanka and Scotland qualified for the tournament through the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier held in Abu Dhabi earlier this year.
