India at Asian Games 2023, Day 4 event: Manu Bhaker & Co in medal race as shooters take center stage asian sports news

On the third day in Hangzhou on Tuesday, the historic equestrian dressage gold medal was the main event for India. The medal winners from that event will be back in action as individual dressage medals are at stake. Many eyes will be on the shooting events, with several medal events scheduled to take place on Wednesday

It’s a very busy day of shooting. Medal events are in skeet (men and women), 25 meter pistol women and 50 meter 3-position women, all of which have team as well as individual medals available. Indians are involved in each of these incidents. Manu Bhaker and Isha Singh had a good first day in the 25m pistol event and will be looking to finish strong.

Women’s Hockey: Savita and company start searching for gold (10:15 am)

In hockey, Savita Punia and Co. started their campaign with a match against Singapore. The Indian women’s hockey team has faced Singapore three times and won each time, with their most recent win coming during the Women’s Asia Cup 2022.

Wushu Sanda: Roshibina Devi (5.15 pm)

Roshibina Devi Naorem is sure to add to India’s medal tally as she competes in the Wushu women’s 60kg Sanda quarterfinals. He is also a bronze medalist from the 2018 edition.

Boxing: Nikhat Zareen back in action (5.15 pm)

Nikhat Zareen will be back in the ring after an impressive win against the World Championships silver medalist to start her campaign. She will take on 2022 Asian Championships bronze medalist Chorong Bak of Korea as she continues her quest for gold and an Olympic quota.

Shooting: Women’s 50m Rifle 3-Position (Individual & Team) – Sift Kaur Samra, Aashi Chouksey, Manini Kaushik, Women’s 25m Pistol (Individual & Team) – Rhythm Sangwan, Manu Bhaker, Isha Singh (Second Stage & Medal Round, From 6.30 am); Men’s and Women’s Skeet (Individual and Team) – Anantjit Singh Naruka, Gurjot Singh Khangura and Ganemat Sekhon, Parinaaz Dhaliwal, Darshana Rathod (6:30 am)

chess (Medals will be decided from 12:30 pm onwards): Vidit Gujarati and Arjun Erigaisi in the men’s individual event, Koneru Humpy and Harika Dronavalli in the women’s individual event in the last few rounds.

cycling: Men’s Sprint and Women’s Keirin (qualifying for medal round, from 7.30 am)

Squash (Pool stage): Women’s team vs Nepal (7:30 am) and vs Macau (2:00 pm); Men’s team vs Kuwait (7.30 am) and vs Pakistan (4:30 pm)
