India head coach announcement by BCCI LIVE: Several reports claimed that World Cup-winning Indian cricket team legend Gautam Gambhir had almost confirmed his candidature for the post of the next coach of Rohit Sharma & Co. But a new report suggests otherwise. Another candidate has emerged, who was interviewed by the BCCI on Tuesday. Gambhir, who is known for speaking his mind out loud, gave his first round of interview with the BCCI's Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) on Tuesday and is a frontrunner to bag the top job. But he is yet to be officially named India's coach. If appointed, he will replace the legendary Rahul Dravid. The tenure of the next Indian cricket team coach will begin on July 1, 2024, and go on till December 31, 2027.
