The best chance of the match came in the 27th minute when Harmanpreet Singh hit the ball from close range onto the bottom of the post. Wang Caiyu was also busy in the Chinese goal, stopping Nilakanta Sharma and Manpreet Singh from scoring consecutively. India were down a man with two minutes to go after Mohammed Raheel received a green card for his offence.
