Indian Railways to Introduce 2 Vande Bharat Express Trains in West Bengal Today – Check Routes, Stoppages & More

A festive gift for West Bengal! Indian Railways on Sunday introduced two new Vande Bharat Express. This is the third and fourth blue and white train for the state. These trains will connect Howrah-Patna and Howrah-Ranchi. Both the trains will be maintained and operated by East Central Railway (ECR) and South Eastern Railway (SER) zones respectively.

Earlier, the national transporter started two semi-fast trains between Howrah and New Jalpaiguri, and Howrah and Puri. Both trains are running with full passengers.

Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat Express

Ranchi-Howrah Vande India The express will start commercial operations from 27 September 2023 (Wednesday). This will be the third blue and white train for the state. This train will be very beneficial for students, traders, tourists and entrepreneurs. It is going to be the fastest train connection between the two capital cities of Jharkhand and West Bengal.

Ranchi-Howrah-Ranchi Vande Bharat Express will stop at six stations on its journey. These are – Mori, Kotshela, Purulia, Chandel, Tatanagar and Kharagpur. It will run on all days of the week except Tuesday.

Train No. 20898 Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat Express will depart Ranchi at 05:15 hrs and reach Howrah at 12:20 hrs. In the return direction, Train No. 20897 Howrah-Ranchi Vande Bharat Express will leave Howrah at 15:45 hrs and reach Ranchi at 22:50 hrs on the same day.

Patna Howrah Vande Bharat Express

Howrah-Patna Vande Bharat Express will start its commercial service from Patna on 26 September 2023 (Tuesday). It will cover 10 districts of both states i.e. Bihar and West Bengal. These are – Patna, Lakhisarai, Jamui, Deoghar, Kolkata, Jamtara, Pasam Burdhman, Purba Burdhman, Hooghly, Howrah.

It will cover the distance of 532 km in 6 hours and 30 minutes as compared to 8 hours for the current fastest running train on this route. En route, the train will stop at seven stations – Patna Sahib, Mokama, Lakhesarai, Jasdia, Jamtara, Asansol and Durgapur.

The average speed of the train will be 82 kmph, while the maximum permitted speed is 130 kmph. With its speed and efficiency, Vande Bharat Express is poised to become a preferred choice for passengers traveling between Patna and Howrah and vice versa.

It will run six days a week except Wednesday. It will depart Patna at 08:00 hrs and reach Howrah at 14:35 hrs. On the return journey, the train will depart Howrah at 15:50 hrs and reach Patna Junction (PNBE) at 22:40 hrs.
