We checked at least 5 CCTV cameras installed near the accident site. None of them were working,” the official said on Saturday.
“This setback will affect the investigation,” he added. Police confirmed that they could not find CCTV footage of the accident.
Based on the constable’s complaint, an FIR under sections 279 (rash driving) and 337 (recklessly causing grievous hurt) of the Indian Penal Code was registered at the DLF-3 police station on Saturday.
Officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), which manages the highway infrastructure, could not be reached for comment till Sunday night.
