'It's a storm…': LSG assistant coach breaks silence on heated exchange between Sanjiv Goenka and KL Rahul

After Lucknow Super Giants' crushing defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad, the owner of the Lucknow-based unit, Sanjiv Goenka was seen having quite an animated discussion with captain KL Rahul, leading to many rumors flying around on social media.

Reports had also emerged suggesting that the batsman across all formats could be relieved of his duties and not be retained for the upcoming season, which added fuel to the fire.

Amidst talks of unrest within the LSG camp, assistant coach Lance Klusener shared his thoughts on a special moment ahead of the upcoming match against Delhi Capitals.

The former South African international player expressed an interesting opinion on the conversation between the two. “I don't see any problem in a strong discussion between two cricket lovers. For us, it's a storm in a tea cup. For us, it's not a big deal,” PTI quoted him as saying during the pre-match press conference.

With the assistant coach quashing rumors of a rift between the two men, LSG's task has now become clear. They have to win their remaining two games and hope that the other teams in the race to make the playoffs will give them some favorable results so that they can make the playoffs for the third consecutive season.

However, the match against Delhi Capitals will not be easy. The Delhi-based unit is left hurt after a crushing defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore last night. Rishabh Pant, who is returning to the team after a one-match ban, will come back strong and help finish the league stage of the tournament on a positive note.

With a poor net run rate and instability in both the batting and bowling aspects, KL Rahul's LSG will have to step up to get two points tomorrow. The absence of Mayank Yadav, who was ruled out due to injury, means the team lacks a proper wicket-taking threat. With the bat, KL Rahul has struggled to find support within his opening partner and may consider making some changes to ensure that the runs keep flowing with the bat.
