It's a tough week for climate change deniers

Let us applaud the dedication of climate change deniers in 2024.

If, in this era of record-high temperatures, evaporating lakes and wildfires, you can still hold on to the notion that climate change is a hoax, I salute you. Double congratulations to the free thinkers who think offshore wind and electric vehicles are for us BetaYour dedication to a political ideology — when evidence to the contrary is slowly destroying our shores — is impressive.

The point is simply this: climate change, like science, is real, whether you believe in it or not.

Droughts, wildfires, and sea level rise are notoriously bipartisan. Mother Nature is actually a complex web of interconnected ecosystems that respond to myriad environmental factors, not someone you can troll on Twitter.

There's a legislator in Wyoming who has actively sought to ban the sale of electric vehicles. Guess which party he belongs to. Let me give you a little hint: its members talk a lot about free markets.

I understand that a large part of some people's identity is wrapped up in politics, which seems like a weird way to live, but go for it. However, if you could allow those of us who don't want to drown at sea to take some steps to ameliorate the inevitable worst of a situation, that would be great.
