According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Raj Bahadur Yadav, who worked as a driver. Yadav was carrying his brother Narendra Singh, who was riding in a cab behind Yadav’s bike, when the incident took place around 9 am on Friday. Bhai was going to Chatarpur at that time.
“When we were passing through the underpass near Janpakt Chowk on our way to Delhi, a speeding car hit Raj’s bike. Due to the collision, Raj fell on the road and sustained severe injuries on his arm, legs and head. He was bleeding profusely,” Singh said in his complaint.
Driver Singh alleged that he managed to flee the spot with his vehicle. Yadav was rushed to Civil Hospital in Sector 10A for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.
Sector 43 police booth inspector Vinay Kumar said, “There were no CCTV cameras near the site of the accident, so the incident was not recorded anywhere. We are trying to collect information from eyewitnesses. Investigation is underway. Specific details will be revealed as it progresses.
Initially, the case was registered at the Sector 43 police booth. Later, on Sunday, he was shifted to Sushant Lok station where an FIR was registered under IPC sections 279 (rash driving) and 304A (negligent death).
