What did the snake say?

Nag Ashwin's film Kalki 2898 AD was released in theatres on 27 June.

Nag on Monday shared a happy picture with Priyanka and Swapna on Instagram, in which the three are seen smiling for the camera. In the caption, he wrote, “About 10 years ago, the three of us started our first feature film 'Yevade' together… Vyjayanthi was very young at that time and the film was risky… I remember one day of shooting with 20 extras got washed out in the rain… We couldn't finish the shoot and that meant we had to come back and set up again… That extra cost was not accounted for and it left us heartbroken and nervous… Looking back, that cost wasn't too much… From that to now…”

'I feel proud and blessed'

He admitted there may be flaws, but they will continue to do better. “After 10 years…all the films we have made together have not just been box office successes but are in their own way a small milestone in film history…I feel proud and privileged to stand amongst them…and be a part of the impossible things we are doing…There are flaws…there is a lot of room for improvement…and we will. For now, just gratitude (folded hands emoticons),” he concluded.

Nag made his directorial debut in 2015 with the coming-of-age film Yevade Subramanyam. He went on to direct actress Savitri's biopic Mahanati. The film was a huge box office success and also won National Awards. Kalki 2898 AD has already broken several box office records, including the biggest opening day in Indian cinema history, surpassing Jawaan.
