Kapil Sibal today raised the issue of live streaming before a bench headed by CJI

Senior advocate Kapil Sibal today said his female colleagues were receiving threats for representing the West Bengal government in the Kolkata rape-murder case and appealed to the Supreme Court not to live-stream the proceedings in the sensitive case. go The Chief Justice, however, said live streaming of the hearings was in public interest and assured Mr. Sibal that he would intervene if lawyers were threatened.
“I am very concerned about what is happening… when a case is live-streamed in such a way that it has an emotional impact… we are not here for the accused, we are here for the state and “Comment, our reputation is being destroyed overnight,” Mr Sibal told a bench of Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra as the court delivered its judgment.
The Chief Justice replied that we will not stop live streaming, it is in public interest, it is an open court.
Mr. Sibal pressed the matter. “Women in my chamber are being threatened and then there are posts about me laughing. When did I laugh? They're being told they're going to have acid thrown at them and they're going to be raped. People on the ground are going to see this. saying.” “
The Chief Justice replied that if there is a threat to a woman, whether a woman or a man appears in the case, we will take care of it.
The court noted that photographs of the 31-year-old doctor who was raped and murdered at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on August 9 are circulating on social media. He said the law does not allow it. The bench issued an order to deal with this and directed Wikipedia to remove information about the identity of the victim.
