IAS officer Tina Dubey is in the spotlight once again after her reaction to a woman sarpanch's speech went viral. The village chief's fluent English surprised the civil servant at a function in Rajasthan's Barmer where he was invited as the chief guest. Ms. Dubi was recently posted as District Collector of Barmer.
Sarpanch Sonu Kanwar, dressed in traditional Rajasthani attire, stood on the dais and welcomed the Collector, showed the viral video.
“I am happy to be a part of this day. First of all, I welcome my collector Tina madam. Being a woman, it is an honor to welcome Tina madam,” she was heard saying at the event. went She went on to talk about water conservation. Her speech was followed by a standing ovation from the crowd as well as from Ms. Dubey as her impressive language skills left everyone in awe.

Ms. Dubi first made headlines after topping the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam in 2015 in her first attempt. Her administrative journey started from Ajmer where she was posted as Assistant Collector. Her younger sister Riya Dubi also cleared UPSC in 2020 with an All India rank of 15.
Tina Dabi was serving as Commissioner of Employment Guarantee Scheme (EGS) in Jaipur before Barmer was transferred as District Collector earlier this month. She has previously served as District Collector of Jaisalmer. Her husband, Pradeep Gavinde, who was posted in Bikaner, was transferred to Jalore as part of the latest reshuffle.
