Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has engaged strategy consulting firm AT Kearney for an agency transformation project.

Apart from reviewing the existing agency structure, the project will involve restructuring of agency operations at branch, division and regional levels, aimed at establishing global best practices, LIC said on Thursday. LIC has around 14 lakh agents.

S Mohanty, CEO and MD, LIC said, “Through Project Jeevan Samarth, we aim to transform our agency ecosystem to suit the rapidly evolving needs of millions of Indian families and provide them with suitable long-term savings, protection, health insurance, ULIP and pension solutions.”

He said that this transformational process will result in more tools and additional skills to our already committed agents, thereby further strengthening the relationship between agents and LIC.
