A day after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) summoned actors Kapil Sharma, Huma Qureshi and Hina Khan in the Mahadev betting app case, they have sought a week’s time to respond to the central probe agency, reported News18 on October 6. As stated in the report.
As per details, Kapil Sharma informed the investigating agency about his shoot abroad due to which he will not be able to attend on Friday, while Huma and Hina have cited personal reasons.
Earlier on October 5, all three were summoned in the Mahadev betting app case, as the online betting platform came under investigation after a grand event in February this year. 200 crore wedding which featured celebrities in UAE.

Authorities say the Mahadev online book betting app is a widespread syndicate that enables illegal betting websites to enroll new users, create user IDs and launder funds through a layered web of anonymous bank accounts. The company promoted by Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppalis is believed to have run its operations from Dubai. Meanwhile, bribes were paid to senior government officials in the form of ‘protection money’.
ED has raided 39 places and seized illegal assets 417 crores in respect of the case. A PMLA special court in Raipur had also issued non-bailable warrants against the suspects.
According to ANI report quoting sources, Ranbir Kapoor and other celebrities (from film and sports industry) are also believed to have done promotional activities for the Mahadev betting app.
The Enforcement Directorate had earlier said that it has successfully identified the key players involved in the money laundering operation. Last month, four people were arrested following searches in Chhattisgarh – including the betting syndicate’s main contact.
