Mahindra XUV700 EV spotted during testing, design details revealed

Mahindra XUV 700 EV: Mahindra recently spotted an almost production-ready model of the Mahindra XUV.e9 on the Coimbatore-Salem highway in Tamil Nadu, with lighting elements visible at the front of the car.

Front LED DRL seen on Mahindra XUV700 Coupe EV

The XUV.e9 is the coupe version of the XUV.e8, which is the electric version of the existing XUV700 on sale in India. It is the flagship offering from Mahindra's XUV.e lineup and promises great performance with metrics like a top speed of 200+ km/h. This car has Mahindra's new design language which is different from any other car of the company.

Front and exterior design

The taillights, side profile and front trunk area of the XUV.e9 have been spotted earlier and this is the first time that the front end of the XUV.e9 has been seen in detail. The previous spy photos of the XUV.e9 had more coverage, covering almost everything.

The facia features large LED DRLs in a double-edged boomerang shape. Something similar was seen in the recently launched XUV 3XO sub 4 meter SUV. The LED DRLs are not connected to a dedicated light bar in the middle. The headlights have been adjusted vertically, and it looks almost identical to what we saw on the XUV.e8 (non-coupe version).

interior design

On the inside, both the XUV.e8 and XUV.e9 have similar interiors. The dashboard is almost the same as seen on the XUV700. However, the new model uses a third 10-25-inch touchscreen display for the front passenger. It also gets a new two-spoke steering wheel which looks similar to the Tata Nexon and Punch EV. The new center console is also better with the new design.

Talking about powertrain, Mahindra can introduce it with Thar Armada on August 15.
