Kaif's father Zulfiqar said that the high tension power line was hanging down for a long time. “Several complaints were submitted but no action was taken. If the department had taken its work seriously, my son would be alive today,” he said.
Residents of nearby areas also told TOI that the electricity department has so far been bouncing the issue between its Ghaziabad and Hapur units.
Rajeev Agarwal, Chief Engineer, PVVNL, Bulandshahr, told TOI that the cable allegedly came into contact with the 11kV feeder fed from Section 2 of the power distribution at Hapur under the 33/11kV substation in Mussoorie.
“The 11kV cable is stretched across the Ganga canal and has a double pole at one end and a single at the other end, which is connected to another 11kV cable. Due to the puncture of the 11kV disc insulator on this pole, the wires We have started operations as usual,” he said.
