This is PM Narendra Modi's first visit to Jammu and Kashmir after assuming the post of Prime Minister for the third consecutive time.

“On June 21, at around 6.30 am, the Prime Minister will attend the 10th World Day of Yoga function at SKICC, Srinagar. The Prime Minister will address the gathering on the occasion followed by the CYP Will take part in a yoga session.” said an official handout from the Press Information Bureau.

He inaugurated and laid foundation stones of several development projects in Jammu and Kashmir 1,500 crore. He will also launch the Competitiveness Improvement Project (JKCIP) in Agriculture and Allied Sectors. 1,800 crores.

Security was beefed up across Jammu and Kashmir in preparation for the Prime Minister's visit on Thursday. Security forces have been deployed in large numbers across Srinagar city and roads leading to SKICC have been sealed to ensure a peaceful conduct of the Prime Minister's visit.

More than 7,000 participants will join PM Modi in doing yoga on the banks of the picturesque Dal Lake on Friday.
