Anshul Kamboj remained in excellent form and took eight wickets for India C against India B in the second round match of the Duleep Trophy being played at Anantapur Cricket Ground 'B'. Kamboj took five wickets on the third day and took three wickets in the morning session of the fourth day.
Kamboj's performance led his team to a mammoth total of 525 in the first innings with Ishan Kishan scoring a hundred. India B opener Abhimanyu Easwaran scored a hundred and led his team to a score of 309/7.
Kamboj has become the third fast bowler to take eight wickets in the Duleep Trophy. Before him, this achievement is in the name of Debashish Mohanty (10/46) and Ashok Dinda (8/123). His figures are the fifth best in the history of Duleep Trophy.

Easwaran remained unbeaten for India B, scoring 157* off 286 balls. Meanwhile, Narayan Jagadeesan scored 70 off 137 balls but was dismissed by Kamboj. Kamboj also took the wickets of Mushir Khan (1), Sarfaraz Khan (16), Rinku Singh (6), Nitish Kumar Reddy (2), Rahul Chahar (18), Navdeep Saini (0) and Mukesh Kumar (4).
Who is Anshul Kamboj?
Before this match, Kamboj had not taken more than three wickets in an innings in his last 14 first-class matches. He is an all-rounder from Haryana. Haryana won the Vijay Hazare Trophy for the first time and Kamboj was one of the highest wicket-takers with 17 wickets in 10 matches. He has also taken 23 wickets in 15 List-A matches. He made his IPL debut for MI in 2024. He appeared in three IPL matches for MI and took two wickets.
By lunch on the fourth day, India C scored 63/1 and took a lead of 261 runs. After lunch, Rituraj Gaikwad (24*) and Rajat Patidar (26*) started batting. Meanwhile, Sai Sudarshan (11) was dismissed by Mukesh Kumar.
