Nibana Abhiyan Live, Kolkata Doctor Rape-Murder Case: Students of Pasam Banga Chhatra Samaj are starting their protest rally from College Square in Kolkata to State Secretariat “Nibna” this afternoon. Kolkata police, who have described the march as “illegal”, have stepped up security with roadblocks and water cannons. A 'March to Nibana' is being organized to demand the resignation of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in light of the alleged rape and murder of a trainee doctor. Earlier, gatherings of more than five people around the area were banned as part of the restrictions. Meanwhile, the CPI(M) and Congress have refused to join the protest, citing “RSS connections” of some organizers.
