OnePlus is preparing for its next anticipated flagship phone, the OnePlus 13, this week. Although the launch is very soon, the company has already revealed key features of the upcoming phone, including display specs.
As the company is preparing for the launch in China, most of the details are shared through OnePlus Weibo account. Some teaser images (via GSMArena) reveal key display specs of the OnePlus 13.
OnePlus recently revealed that the phone is using BOE's X2 display panel, the second iteration of what we saw on the OnePlus 12. The OnePlus 13 will also have a 120Hz high refresh rate along with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support.
The display panel also supports Glove Touch and the improved Rain Touch 2.0, which has been widely seen in recent OnePlus and Oppo phones, making it easier to operate even when the display is wet. DC dimming is also present; We may see some home-grown anti-flicker technology for those who are PWM-sensitive.
Additionally, the display of the OnePlus 13 also gets TÜV Rhineland Intelligent Eye Protection 4.0. While previously confirming the X2 display, a company representative provided some information about the display, which is believed to be slightly curved on all sides. At first glance, this might make the OnePlus 13's screen appear to be an almost bezel-less display.
A recent post on the OnePlus Weibo account also indicated that the OnePlus 13 will have an IP68 rating as well as an IP69 rating. While the latter is similar to the predecessor OnePlus 12, the successor's IP69 rating gives it an extra edge in terms of water protection, which may also include protection against high-temperature water jets.
Another interesting element of the upcoming OnePlus 13 is its fingerprint sensor authentication. After relying on optical fingerprint sensors for years, the company is finally switching to ultrasonic fingerprint sensors in upcoming flagship phones. Lastly, the OnePlus 13 will be equipped with Bionic Vibration Motor Turbo, which is likely to improve the haptic feedback of the handset.
The OnePlus 13 will be powered by the recently introduced Snapdragon 8 Elite platform, making it one of the latest Android phones to feature the flagship processor, which has already been seen in the latest Xiaomi 15 series.
