GURGAON: The HSVP has agreed to provide alternative land to an auto parts factory that had stalled construction of a major road connecting NH-8 to new sectors for nearly a decade. While the rest of the road has been constructed, only 190 meters remain to be laid. Once completed, it will provide direct access from NH-8 to Pataudi Road and Sultanpur Lake via Sector 82-89. Earlier, the private company, whose manufacturing unit is spread over 1,500 square yards, had approached the High Court. But the court asked both the parties to find an amicable solution. The HSVP then prepared an exchange proposal to offer alternative land, which was recently approved by the state government. An HSVP official confirmed the development and said that they will soon hand over the possession of the land to the GMDA so that the road can be finally completed. “The exchange proposal has been approved by the government, and we are in the process of completing all necessary legal requirements. It should be finalized within a month, after which the land will be handed over to GMDA for construction of the missing link. will be done,” said Vikas Dhanda, HSVP State Officer-1. The GMDA said construction would be “started immediately” after the plot is handed over. The road dividing Sector 88 and 89 is not connected to Pataudi Road due to a dispute over acquisition. As soon as we get possession, we will construct the rest of the 60 meter wide road. This will further improve connectivity in the new sectors,” said a senior official of the Metropolitan Authority. Residents and commuters welcomed the move, saying the road would reduce travel time and provide access between key sectors and Pataudi Road. There is a dead end on the road dividing Sector 88 and 89, and we are forced to either drive on the adjoining dirt road to reach Patodi Road. Then we are stuck in a traffic jam near the hospital. The dirt road is impassable during the rains. We are glad that the problem is finally being resolved After that, we will connect with NH-8,” said Jai Prakash, general secretary of NBCC Heights RWA in Sector 89.
