Believe it or not, Splatoon 3 has been available to play for a few years now. Since then, the game has received a pretty steady stream of support, including new Splatfests, updates, and additional content and features. However, with the announcement of the Grand Festival Splatfest, there was speculation that Nintendo was going to take a step back from supporting the game in some way.
Well, it looks like that is the case. After the Grand Festival results were posted, Nintendo confirmed via a social media post from the North American Splatoon account that regular updates are coming to a halt. This means that there will no longer be any new Splatfest themes, and updates with new content have now stopped. However, Splatfests with returning themes will still take place, and updates for weapon adjustments will still be released whenever they are needed. The Big Run, Eggstra Work, and Monthly Challenges will also continue. You can check out the social media post breaking the news below.
