Nissan currently offers the Magnite in four trims, namely XE, XL, XV and XV Premium apart from Kuro and Giza editions, all priced between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 11.27 lakh (both ex-showroom).
During the unveiling of the new X-Trail in July this year, Nissan India had unveiled its roadmap for the next few years, which included several new SUVs for the market. One of them was the facelifted Magnite which is set to be launched later this year. A few days ago, Nissan had confirmed that the company will launch a new model on October 4.
This model will likely be the updated Magnite. Test mules of the facelifted subcompact SUV have been spotted on several occasions in the last few months. Now, the Japanese car brand has officially teased the Magnite facelift ahead of its launch in October. In fact, Nissan has shared two new teasers on its social media handles in the last few days.
Each teaser highlights the updates expected from the sub-4 metre crossover. For instance, the first teaser reveals the use of newly designed dual-tone machine cut alloy wheels. In the second teaser, the short clip shows an updated front grille and a revised LED taillamp cluster. For now, the updates are purely cosmetic and do not indicate any functional changes.
Nissan Magnite facelift: Expected specifications and features
In terms of features, we expect Nissan to upgrade the 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is offered in the top-spec Geza edition of the Magnite. Other possible updates could include an electric sunroof and new seat upholstery. Rest of the features are expected to remain unchanged including a 7-inch digital display, ambient lighting, wireless phone charger and push-button start/stop.
Nissan is unlikely to make any mechanical changes to the Magnite. The carmaker will continue to offer the Magnite with two petrol engine options – a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated unit and a 1.0-litre turbocharged unit. The former produces 71 bhp and 96 Nm of peak torque. The latter could produce 99 bhp and 160 Nm (152 Nm in AT). Transmission options include a 5-speed manual, 5-speed AMT and a CVT automatic gearbox.
