Gurgaon: Residents of several societies in Sector 84 are worried. Sad condition of the approach road for one year. As an expression of their deep dissatisfaction, they have vowed not to vote in the upcoming elections until their long-standing grievances are redressed.

The main link road connecting Sikandarpur and Sehi villages is filled with sewage and Pits. The road, used by residents of residential complexes like SS Coralwood, SS Almeria, Spaz Priv AT 4, Pyotal Dewan, and Gurgaon One, often witnesses accidents due to the dilapidated condition of the road.
Some of them have been seriously injured as a result of the accidents, adding to the already mounting frustrations.
Residents said the MCG has set up a pump house at Sikandarpur to divert the sewage to the drain along the Dwarka Expressway.
But the pipeline is feared to be damaged, causing sewage to flow onto the road and further deteriorate the surface.
This revenue road serves as the only connection for about half a dozen societies in the area, but it has turned into a daily menace. During monsoons, the road becomes a mud trap, making travel impossible.
when Municipal Corporation Manesar (MCM) was formed in December 2020, with parts of Sector 84 initially falling under the jurisdiction of the MCG. However, after the government demarcated the administrative boundaries again in 2022, the western side of the Dwarka Expressway, including Sector 84, was transferred to the MCM to handle it. Sandeep Roy, a resident of Spaze Privy AT 4, said, “We have been living with this terrible condition of the road for almost a year. We have tried everything, be it complaints, meetings with authorities, or local representatives. , but nothing has changed, they don't care about our basic needs, why should we support them with our votes?
He also highlighted the plight of parents and children who have to wade through dirty water to get to school, challenges faced by domestic helpers and security guards trying to get to work.
“Every day feels like a battle when we step out of society. The road is a mess and with it. Sewage overflowit has become unbearable. One cannot even walk without getting drenched in dirty water. We tried to reach out to the authorities, but nothing was done to provide a permanent solution. With this call, we want to highlight the plight of thousands of families living in the area,” said Harish Sharma, a resident of Payutal Dewan.
Meanwhile, an MCM official said they have started the tendering process for drainage, road construction and installation of street lights at an estimated cost of Rs 3.25 crore.
“However, the process was put on hold due to the implementation of the model code of conduct. We are finalizing the agency and the work will start soon after the MCC is lifted,” the official said.
The official also said that the corporation has regularly redressed complaints of sewage leakage and even disconnected illegal sewage connections in drains.
“More than 85 complaints have been addressed in this regard. Earlier, this road was under the jurisdiction of MCG, and they constructed it. There was a pending inquiry by MCG, as a result of which, we The work was not able to start,” he added.
