Noida-based YouTuber Ajit Bharti received notice from Karnataka police over Rahul Gandhi's video

A Noida-based YouTuber was today issued a notice by the Karnataka Police to join the investigation into a video of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi.

The police notice issued to YouTuber Ajit Bharti reads, “The video, titled 'Rahul Trying Hard to Fuel Fire, Naseer Watts Wants Modi in Skull Cap' allegedly incites communal enmity, hatred and malice.” Intends to create emotion.

The action comes after a complaint was lodged by one BK Bopanna at High Ground Police Station in Bengaluru on June 15.

Based on his complaint, sections 153 (promoting enmity between different groups) and 505 (2) (statements inciting or promoting enmity) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the notice said. An FIR was registered under

The police directed Mr Bharti to appear before the investigating officer at High Ground police station at 11 am within seven days of receiving the notice.

A Karnataka Police team descended on the YouTuber's house in Noida's Sector 57 around 1 pm, a local police officer said.

The officer said, “Our team also reached the house soon and left after notifying the Karnataka police. Normally, it is a procedure that any police team informs their local counterparts but in this case I didn't.”
