New Delhi [India]May 13 (ANI): A notorious jewel thief and receiver of stolen property has been arrested by the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) team, ending the ongoing plane robberies. , an official said on Monday.
“A notorious jewel thief and receiver of stolen property has been arrested by Team IGI, putting an end to the ongoing heists of aircraft. A large cache of stolen jewelery has been recovered,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), IGI Airport Usha Ranganani said.
The official further said that the accused had taken more than 100 flights in the last one year.
“He committed thefts inside the aircraft as well as during security checks,” said IGI DCP Ranganani.
Earlier on Sunday, the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport and more than half a dozen government hospitals in Delhi received bomb threats via e-mail.

Immediately after the bomb threats, a search operation was launched in all the places.
The Delhi Police took immediate action after receiving information about the threatening emails and started an investigation.
The bomb threat emails come almost two weeks after several schools in Delhi-NCR received bomb threats via email.
According to Delhi Police, a total of 131 schools received threatening emails on May 1.
However, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued an official statement terming the email as 'false'. (ANI)
