Here is Barca's statement on the deal:
FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid have reached an agreement for the loan of French defender Clément Lenglet until June 30, 2025. There is no option for a permanent transfer.
The move comes after the defender signed a new contract at Barcelona that will now run until 2027, helping to spread the costs and comply with FFP regulations.
After playing in the Premier League with Tottenham and Aston Villa, Lenglet will now continue his career in La Liga with Atletico.
It has been an interesting summer for Atletico, having also added Julian Alvarez and Conor Gallagher, as well as sending Joao Felix to Chelsea.
Lenglet will hope he can play regular football with Diego Simeone's side and make an impact after a difficult last few years for the Frenchman.
The centre-back was expected to move to Saudi Arabia but he has no interest in moving to the Middle East and will play in Madrid.
