GURGAON: The district administration is planning to start an old age home in the city under Samarthvard SEWA Ashram scheme to provide residential services to the elderly people who need it. This will be the first old age home run by the government and the administration has invited proposals from NGOs, trusts, societies and corporates under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. Deputy Commissioner Nishant Yadav informed Director General Ashima Brar. Make plans on Thursday. The objective of this scheme is to rehabilitate and help destitute senior citizens in the state. Yadav said that the norms for the scheme have been fixed and the old age homes will be run in buildings owned by the Haryana government. “The objective of this initiative is to provide a comfortable and safe environment for the elderly who require support and care. The Old Age Home will offer various facilities and services to ensure the well-being of its residents, such as nutritious food, medical care, recreational activities, and opportunities for social interaction,” Yadav said.To avail the benefits of the scheme, beneficiaries must have Parivar Pahchanputra (PPP). The scheme divides the beneficiaries into two categories. The first category includes those whose annual income is less than Rs. 2 lakh. The second category is those whose annual income is more than Rs. 2 lakh Persons who have deserted or have no one to take care of them. Under the scheme, senior citizens whose income is above Rs 2 lakh will be given free accommodation. will come under the scheme. The charges will be fixed by the local administration. In addition, the old age home will also admit such senior citizens who require short stay on the orders of District Magistrate, Courts and Police. In case of emergency, this facility can be provided to the beneficiaries on the recommendation of SDM or Area District Welfare Officer.
