A man was allegedly shot more than a dozen times by a group of men inside a Burger King outlet in West Delhi's Rajouri Garden on Tuesday evening. The police said that the victim died on the spot due to bullet injury.
A senior police officer said the deceased was sitting in the restaurant with his friend when a group of men, who were also inside the restaurant, fired 10-12 shots at him and his friends. Police say the two groups know each other and fight over an old issue. Police are investigating the case from multiple angles including gang war.
The accused, about three persons, managed to escape as soon as they fell on the spot. Locals alleged that a few others were injured in the firing. Senior police officers refused to divulge details of the injured. Police said that teams have been dispatched to arrest them. The CCTV installed in the restaurant is being checked to identify the accused.
A senior police officer said, “A call was received from the Burger King restaurant about a fight between two groups. Two to three men had pistols which they fired at the other group. The fight and firing took place inside the restaurant. “
Vichitra Veer, DCP (West) said, “There was a report of gunshots and death of one person at Burger King, Rajouri Garden. Officers and crime team are on the spot. Information gathering and CCTV cameras are on the scene. Teams have been formed to examine the
DCP Veer did not share details about the deceased and the number of bullets.
