Pedestrian killed after being hit by a speeding vehicle on NH-48


Gurugram: A 32-year-old pedestrian was killed after being hit by a speeding vehicle while crossing NH-48 near Manesar bus stand, police said on Thursday.

According to the police, the deceased Gurylal (who gives his first name) was walking when he was hit by an unknown vehicle. He said that the accident took place on February 22 at around 7 pm.

The passengers arranged for an ambulance and took him to a private hospital in the area, investigators said. However, due to his critical condition, he was shifted to another hospital in Sector-47 the next day where he died during treatment on Wednesday morning, police said.

On the complaint of the deceased's brother Vineeth Kumar, an FIR was registered against the unknown driver of the vehicle under sections 279 (driving or riding in haste) and 304A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code at the Manesar police. Station on Wednesday.
