Pixel 8a render leaked, size change revealed [Gallery]

After unexpectedly appearing a few weeks ago, new renders of the Google Pixel 8a help clarify the device’s size and more.

@OnLeaks and SmartPrix Google has posted renders of the Pixel 8a, which appear to be based on CAD files of the device. These files are usually quite reliable for details like dimensions and overall design but sometimes some minor details go awry.

In the renders, we can once again see the Pixel 8a’s new rounded design, which is quite different from the boxier Pixel 7a, but also in line with the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro that Google launched last week. The camera module looks largely the same, and the size of the device isn’t much different either.

Apparently, the Pixel 8a will measure 152.1 x 72.6 x 8.9 mm in size. According to Google, it is slightly longer, narrower, and thinner than the Pixel 7a, measuring 152 x 72.9 x 9 mm. However, the display remains the same at 6.1 inches; However, it’s possible that it will feel a little smaller due to the more aggressively rounded corners.

The Pixel 7a was launched in May 2023, which means we expect the Pixel 8a to launch around Google I/O in 2024. However, the Pixel A-series release schedule has been pretty inconsistent, so basically, any time over the next several months is possible.
