Pixel 9 series, OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite and vivo Y28s official in August, week 26 review

Google surprised us all by announcing the Pixel event in August instead of October. The Pixel 9 series, which will include three phones for the first time, is coming on August 13!

The OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite is officially launched. It has a 6.67-inch 120Hz OLED and Snapdragon 695 SoC. The Nord CE4 Lite is powered by a 10% more capacious battery, 5,500mAh. This is the capacity of the Indian model. The global variant has a 5,110mAh battery (110mAh more than the CE 3 Lite). Either way, charging has been slightly increased to 80W, so charging to 100% still takes a reasonable amount of time – 52 minutes on the 5,500mAh variant. This is a very versatile phone. It has a microSD slot for additional storage, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and stereo speakers with a 300% ultra volume mode. And you can share some of that big battery with a 5W reverse charging mode.

Pre-orders for the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite have started in Europe today. The phone is available in one configuration (8/256GB) and is priced at €330. If you get an early bird deal, get it for €280. The situation is slightly different in India and the Nord CE4 Lite will be available in open sale directly from June 27 (Thursday). The base 8/128GB model has an MSRP of ₹21,000.

Apart from this, Vivo Y28s has also been officially launched. This smartphone comes with a 6.56″ HD + 90Hz LCD display with Dimenisty 6300 SoC and 8GB of RAM. It has a 5,000mAh battery and IP64 rating. Vivo Y28s 5G will be available in Mocha Brown and Twinkling Purple colors, but its price and availability have not been detailed yet.

And this week, another phone arrived – the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro. Some of its features are the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, up to 24GB of RAM, and a powerful 6,100mAh battery. The OnePlus Ace 3 Pro comes in Porcelain White, Green Field, and Titanium Silver colors. Pricing starts at CNY 3,199 ($440) for the 12/256GB model.

The Lite borrows some features from the Nord CE4, but it also has some questionable choices — the Snapdragon 695, again?

It comes with IP64 rating.

The Ace 3 Pro is the first device to feature OnePlus' new Glacier battery technology that brings a more energy-density cell with a 6,100mAh capacity.

And would you believe it, another phone has gone official this week – the Motorola S50 Neo for China or G85 for Europe. Motorola unveiled the Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra and later made both official. The S50 Neo or G85 also came along. It has a Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, a curved 6.7-inch pOLED display (FHD+ 120Hz) and a 5,000mAh battery with 30W charging.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro may not have a 200MP camera. Instead, the phone will come with a 50MP sensor, hopefully a larger one. The Redmi Note 14 Pro will also have a screen with “1.5K” resolution, just like the Note 13 Pro.

Outside China it is expected to be launched as Moto G85.

While it won't feature the Glyph interface, the CMF Phone 1 will feature a removable back via a Nothing lock mechanism.

A new rumour has shared some details about the upcoming device.

A very strange rumor today from Samsung's home Korea claims that the company is thinking about using MediaTek Dimensity chips for the Galaxy S25 family, which is set to launch in January next year. Note that there will be not just MediaTek chips, but MediaTek Dimensity chips (possibly the Dimensity 9400) as well as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and Samsung's own Exynos 2500. So if this turns out to be possible (and it's a pretty big deal), the Korean brand's next flagship family could have three different SoCs for different markets.

The Pro is plenty for €100 less.

Apart from Exynos 2500 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

Its launch should happen soon.
