Power outages reported in Russia's border areas following Ukraine attacks.

According to Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov, drone strikes have disrupted electricity and gas supplies and damaged telephone lines in the Russian region of Belgorod, which borders Ukraine.

“Phone cables, gas and electricity supplies have been damaged. Electricity has been cut off in several villages,” Gladkov posted on his Telegram channel.

He mentioned Graven and Krasnia Yaruga, west of the city of Belgorod, and Shebkino, southeast of the regional capital. All three settlements are close to the Ukrainian border.

Belgorod itself and the town of Oskol, northeast of Belgorod, were also affected, local media reported. He attributed the blackout to the damaged substation.

In the Kursk region, which borders Ukraine and the Belgorod region, Governor Alexei Smirnov warned that “technical problems with power lines in neighboring regions may lead to a reduction in power capacity in the Kursk region.”

The Kursk region came under drone attack overnight, Smirnov said, with air defenses downing seven Ukrainian drones.
