Mishra, a member of the trust, had said in June that the Ram temple in Ayodhya is likely to open to devotees on January 24 after the consecration of the idol of Ram Lalla.

Asked about the plan for devotees coming after the consecration ceremony, he said, they would get 15-20 seconds for ‘darshan’, but would be satisfied with the overall experience of the temple premises.

Ram temple architecture

Regarding the temple’s architecture and construction materials, Mishra said, iron has not been used in its construction, and copper has been used to join the stone blocks.

He said that the built up area of ​​the temple is 2.5 acres and if one includes ‘Parikrama Path’, the total area of ​​the complex is around eight acres.

He also said that around Rs 900 crore has been spent on the construction of the temple so far, and it is estimated that the overall construction of the complex will cost around Rs 1700 crore to Rs 1800 crore.

Mishra said that some artefacts have been found during excavations by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and some objects have been found during the foundation and construction work of the temple.

Some of these items have been safely kept in the trust’s custody, Mishra said. “After taking permission from the ASI, we will display them in the proposed museum.” Asked about those invited for the consecration ceremony, he said, an initial list of 10,000 people is being drawn up, which will include saints, devotees, people associated with the Ram temple movement, etc.
