Police pursue driver in San Fernando Valley – NBC Los Angeles

Police chased a stolen golf cart through the San Fernando Valley on Sunday.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) responded to the 18700 block of Ventura Boulevard on a report of a possibly stolen golf cart and an assault with a deadly weapon shortly after 9 p.m.

The driver, who had a dog in his lap for the duration of the chase, refused to yield to officers, leading to a bizarre, low-speed chase. Due to the golf cart’s small size, the driver was able to maneuver the police cruiser and escape from officers.

Ultimately, however, the driver was cornered by a big rig parked in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven in Valley Glen. Officers were then able to arrest the driver and the dog was able to be taken to Los Angeles County Animal Care.

A driver who had a dog with him the whole time led police on a chase of a stolen golf cart in the San Fernando Valley.
