Police say 2 people shot to death in murder-suicide inside Paulding County Walmart – WSB-TV Channel 2

Hiram, Ga. – Police are investigating after two people were shot inside a Walmart in Paulding County.

Hiram Police say they were called to the Walmart on Jimmy Lee Smith Parkway on Wednesday evening for a report of shots fired.

Two people, a man and a woman, were taken to hospital. Both of them died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.

The shooting occurred inside a Walmart and one of the victims appears to be a Walmart employee.

His identity has not been released.

According to Hiram Police Chief Mike Turner, it appears the shooting was a murder-suicide.

Authorities have not released details on possible suspects.

Walmart issued a statement Channel 2 Action News He read:

,We are heartbroken by what happened at our Hiram store tonight. Our priority right now is the safety of our associates and customers. The store will remain closed while we work with law enforcement during their investigation.,

An eyewitness described the moment he was shopping inside the store when bullets started flying.

“My heart sank. There was a lot in my mind to process,” Devanni Lopez said. “At first I thought there was really no way this was going to happen.”
