Ghaziabad: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has sought responses from 25 respondents, including the District Magistrate, Development Authority, UP Housing and Development Board and GMC in connection with a petition claiming that several malls and eateries They were operating with a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Pollution Board. . The establishments questioned by the Green Tribunal include Eros and Shipra Mall in Indirapuram, Galaxy Mall in Sahibabad, Hotel Banquet in Vasundhara, Clark Inn in Kushambi, and Shoprex Mall in Vaishali as well as Ansel Plaza.
The Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) had submitted a pollution report to the NGT in July this year, saying it had issued show-cause notices to more than 20 establishments in the district for operating without NOCs. are The notices were under the provisions of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act and the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act.
However, the NGT said in the report that there were ‘serious deficiencies in the implementation of environmental laws/standards’.
The second report submitted by the board last month was allegedly not in the correct format, so they have been directed to submit it again.
Petitioner Pradeep Dhalia said, “The NGT has further directed all the respondents to file their replies within 2 months. The DM of Ghaziabad has been asked to take charge of it.”
The next hearing of the case will be held on December 19.
