The PM was addressing a rally in Odisha's Bargarh.

Bhubaneswar:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday hit out at the Congress over senior party leader Nana Patole's comment on the “purification” of the Ram temple.

Addressing a large public meeting in Odisha's Bargarh Lok Sabha constituency, PM Modi said that the Congress leader's statement was an insult to President Draupadi Murmu and the entire tribal community.

He said that BJP made a tribal daughter of Odisha the President of India but Congress and its allies are repeatedly disrespecting her.

“President Draupadi Murmu recently visited the Ram temple. He worshiped inside the tomb of the Ram temple. He sought the blessings of Ram Lalla for the good of the country. The next day, a Congress leader said that the Ram temple It will be purified by the water of the Ganges, is it not an insult to the country, mothers and sisters and the entire tribal society.

He also appealed to the people to “punish” the Congress by depriving the party's candidates of their deposits in every Lok Sabha and Assembly seat for insulting President Draupadi Murmu.

PM Modi also said that Congress is trying to take away the rights of SC/ST or OBC by stabbing the constitution in the back. He described himself as the “watchman” of the rights of all the poor and deprived people of the country.

“Congress wants to give its vote bank by taking away the reservation rights of ST/SC and OBC. No one has the right to backstab the constitution when a tribal girl holds the highest constitutional post. Be your pradhan sevak belonging to a backward caste, PM Modi will not allow anyone to take away the rights of ST/SC and OBC.

Referring to senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Prime Minister Modi said that nowadays the “princes” of Congress are talking about the Constitution but they have torn it to pieces during the press meet.

He said that this is not only an insult to the Cabinet and the Government of India, but also to the Constitution itself.

PM Modi further asserted that the Congress will get fewer seats this time than its “prince” Rahul Gandhi did during his lifetime and will also lose the status of the main opposition party in Parliament.
