Documents exclusively accessed by News18 show that SB Agarwal, father of real estate developer Vishal Agarwal, was named in the shootout case registered at Pune's Bund Garden police station. The case was later transferred to the CBI and he sought anticipatory bail.

The grandfather of the 17-year-old Pune boy, who is accused of driving his Porsche into two people, allegedly paid gangster Chhota Rajan in connection with the shootout, police sources said. News 18as authorities investigate a weekend crash involving a teenager that has sparked widespread outrage.

According to official sources and documents they have been exclusively accessed. News 18, Surendra Kumar Agarwal, father of prominent real estate developer Vishal Agarwal, was named in a Pune firing case that was registered at Bandh Garden police station and later transferred to the CBI. The accused had also sought anticipatory bail in this case.

News 18 It has been learned that the alleged 'betel leaf' was given to a corporator in Pune. It was in 2009 that corporator Ajay Bhosle, who was out on an election campaign, was shot dead by two men in Koregaon Park. Although he escaped unhurt, his driver sustained serious injuries.

Official documents show that after the case was transferred to the CBI, the agency found that SK Aggarwal had allegedly paid Chhota Rajan to kill Bhosle in connection with a property dispute. The case was transferred to the CID and then the CBI after the police failed to solve it as they failed to identify the mastermind behind the attempt on the corporator's life. In 2020, however, the CBI alleged that SK Aggarwal had paid Chhota Rajan for the hit after which the builder sought anticipatory bail from the Bombay High Court.

News 18 Also spoke exclusively to Bhosle, who was the hit of the time. He said that he has filed a writ petition against the CID and also questioned how anticipatory bail was granted to SK Agarwal. “How come he was granted anticipatory bail? He still comes to court. All the victims should get justice.”

Vishal Agarwal, whose son is accused of killing two software engineers after ramming his speeding luxury car into their motorcycle, was arrested from Sambhajinagar on Tuesday (May 21). Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has demanded that the youth be tried as an adult after the victim's parents termed their children's death as “murder” and demanded strict action. Fadnavis said there was no police negligence in the case, while denying any pressure on the investigation.

However, the boy got bail on a surety of Rs 7,500 and an assurance from his grandfather to keep him away from bad company. Months away from turning 18, he was granted bail by the Juvenile Justice Board on relatively lenient terms hours after the crash.

“His grandfather has given an assurance that he will keep the child-in-conflict-of-law (CCL) away from any bad company and focus on his studies or any professional course useful for his career. He is ready to comply with the condition imposed on him. Therefore, it is proper and proper to release CCL on bail,” the order issued by the Juvenile Justice Board on May 19 said.

However, on the first day, the board issued a notice to the boy to appear before it. This happened when the Pune police approached him with a request to review his bail order.
